Bill Benoit
Bill served 28-years in
the US Army before entering academe. Although he was a
Research and Development officer and experimental test
pilot, He commanded an artillery battery, an aviation
company (in combat – Vietnam), a transportation battalion,
an ordnance maintenance battalion and two large research
laboratory complexes. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Test
Pilot School (USNTPS) and later was a Flight Instructor at
the USNTPS where he taught calculus, helicopter performance
flight test theory, and helicopter stability and control
flight test theory. He has flown 76 different aircraft and
has several thousand hours in his log book. He is a Master
Army Aviator.
In his retirement grade of Colonel, he served as the
Director of Procurement and Production of the U.S. Army
Aviation Systems Command with over 500 procurement and
production personnel; as the Commander of the Army Materials
and Mechanics Research Center with 600 scientists, engineers
and support personnel; and as the Commander and Director of
the U.S. Army Harry Diamond Laboratories with 1200
scientists, engineers and support personnel. Virtually all
of his service has been in operations management.
He is the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC)
and the Legion of Merit (LOM.)
Academic Experience:
Leaving the Army, he entered academe at Plymouth State
University (PSU) in New Hampshire. There, he taught
operations management, management science, Statistical
Process Control (SPC), purchasing management, statistics,
and strategic management, at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels for 22 years.
At PSU, he also served as the Director of the MBA program
for eight years and as Chair of the Business Department. As
Chair, he led the Department to achieve ACBSP accreditation
in 1995. Upon leaving PSU, he took a two-year fulltime
appointment at Southern New Hampshire University, teaching
the same courses that he did at PSU at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels.

Woodward, CFPIM, CIRM
Dick
Woodward is currently the Assistant Overnight Grocery
Manager for Hannaford’s in Plymouth. He has twenty-five plus
years of manufacturing experience in a variety of line,
staff, consulting and training positions. Dick has been
responsible for several manufacturing systems
implementations.
He has worked in a variety of line and staff positions in
the following functions: Quality Assurance; Manufacturing;
Customer Service and Materials. His manufacturing experience
was gained with such companies as: MPB Corporation; Jarvis
Cutting Tools; Portland Valve; New Hampshire Ball Bearing;
and Beau Interconnect Systems.
Some of Dick’s previous assignments have included: project
management for manufacturing software implementation;
in-house education; and public workshops. Client companies
include: Madame Alexander Doll; William Arthur; Gillette,
Sprague Electric; Windham Engineering; TECO; DCI and Phonon
Corporation.
He is certified at the fellow level in production and
inventory management (CFPIM), as well as being certified in
integrated resource management (CIRM). Dick is an APICS
qualified AMES, CPIM, CIRM, and Train-the-Trainer
instructor.
He is listed in Who's Who, Executive Edition, 1994/95 and
Who's Who in Executives and Professionals, Millenium
Edition. Dick has spoken at APICS International Conferences,
Seminar 1, and is a frequent speaker at APICS chapter
meetings and other professional organizations..
